SSG Goff was the traveling down a dirt road when an IED exploded underneath his vehicle sending metal fragments into his legs and face. Several pieces of metal cut into SSG Goff's legs. Another piece of metal cut SSG Goff's face. SSG Goff was sent on a MEDEVAC bird to the Green Zone. After SSG Goff was stabilized he was sent back to the United States for recovery and rehabilitation.
