SPC Cuevas was the traveling down a dirt road when an IED exploded underneath his vehicle sending metal fragments into the vehicle. Several pieces of metal tore into SPC Cuevas arm pit area. SPC Cuevas was sent on a MEDEVAC bird to the Green Zone. SPC Cuevas was sent back to Camp Taji where he is expected to stay and recover from his injuries.
