WELCOME TO THE OIF 1-13 ARMOR SCOUT PLATOON WEBSITE
Welcome to the 1-13 Armor Scout Platoon website. Below is a letter that better describes the purpose and my intent with this website.

In an effort to reduce expenses, we will be trying to transfer this website to a free web server. Currently this website costs $20 a month. While that may not seem like much; $20/month multiplied by 12 months a year equals $240 a year to keep the website running. If we are unable to keep the website running on the internet, I will convert it to a CD format which I will gladly mail out to any one who wants a copy. Most importantly we will continue to keep the 1-13 Cavalry Scout pride alive and running.
I know some of you are probably asking yourselves when we will be having a reunion. It has been 4 years since OIF 1 veterans returned and 2 years since OIF 3 veterans have returned. Although I currently do not have any plans for a reunion, the option is always on our mind. The current priority is transferring the website and then we can go from there. I will say that I recently returned from a trip to the Bavarian Inn Lodge in Frankenmuth, Michigan and I was quite impressed with there accomodations, German hometown pride, and countless tourist attractions. I will be keeping that location in mind when more serious talks of a reunion develop and several locations/states have been considered for the reunion.
Lastly, I (Bart) will be able to be contacted at a new email address. The new email address is aaron.bartal at yahoo.com. Please delete the current email of firstname.lastname@example.org. I will still continue to receive emails from that address however eventually I plan to stop using the address all together. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

I am writing to you today to inform you that the Sabre Scout Platoon War Veteran Website is now open. The purpose of this 19 Delta War Veteran website is to provide a place where scouts can be recognized for their sacrifice’s. Also scouts can lookup other scouts mailing addresses, email addresses and phone numbers in order to maintain contact with each other. There is a calendar on the website which lists your birthday. The purpose of the calendar is just to keep each other informed on how old each scout maybe and when their birthday is.
Why am I starting this website? Well during my deployment to OIF 3 I was thinking about how once we come back to the states everyone is going to PCS, ETS or retire. Most scouts after a deployment want to get away from the people that they just spent a year with. After coming back from OIF 1 I kept in touch with some scouts that ETS and went their separate ways. What I learned was even though I couldn’t stand some of them in Iraq, it feels different to talk to them after they do not work for me anymore. In some situations I felt like the only people that I could talk to about what happened in Iraq is the people who were there. I figure if I can maintain a website that has all of the scouts from OIF 1 & OIF 3 listed and their current contact information that will allow us war veterans to keep in touch with each other.
What information about you do I have displayed? I have your birthday, pictures of you, your ribbons, your hometown and your email address. It is strongly encouraged that you keep your contact information up to date. That way everyone can continue to keep in touch with whomever.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and doing your part to make the Scout War Veteran Website a success. The website can be found at http://www.michiganguy.com/oif/. Please read the instructions on how to view the site. After reading the instructions feel free to visit any part of the site. The purpose of the instructions is to show you how to use the Message Board despite an error that we are currently dealing with. If you have any questions, comments or want to report a problem email me at the email listed below.
