The wing suggests flight and airborne capabilities; the torch symbolizes leadership and
guidance implying pathfinder combat skills.
The Commandant of the U.S. Army Infantry School may award the Pathfinder Badge to
any person who successfully completed the Pathfinder Course conducted by that
School.
